He captioned the video: ‘Getting ready for Olympic Games 2024’.
During his playing career, Ibrahimovic displayed his acrobatic capabilities on several occasions, notably when he scored with a long-range bicycle-kick against England in 2012.
‘Yes (it is the bicycle kick against England which is my favourite),’ he told Morgan, reflecting on a game in 2012 in which Sweden won 4-2 with Ibrahimovic scoring all four. This included the aforementioned stunning 30-yard bicycle kick in injury time which secured the victory and it is a goal that has gone down in folklore.
‘It is my favourite because of many reasons. The goal is amazing. Not just because it’s me or my ego, but who would do that?
‘I don’t see many players doing it. Most in that situation would take the ball and waste time because we were winning 3-2.
‘(Joe) Hart was the goalie and I said “I will fool him now”. When I saw him run out I thought I would pretend to go towards him then back off then I took the shot on instinct from there. As a striker you know where the goal is and I knew it was going in (when I hit it).’
Ibrahimovic netted more than 500 times during his playing days, which included spells at Inter Milan, AC Milan, Juventus, PSG, Barcelona and Manchester United, before he retired at the end of last season.
He was also prolific for his country, scoring 62 times in 122 caps, while he won trophies in five different leagues.
