Jack Grealish went 'full Maradona' with his epic knee slide celebration against Tottenham Hotspur.
The Manchester City star scored his first Premier League goal in Sunday's (December 3) clash to put the reigning champions 3-2 up in the 81st minute. After latching on to Erling Haaland's pass and finishing past Guglielmo Vicario, the 28-year-old raced towards the touchline and pulled out a knee slide that seemingly never stopped.
While sliding, a camera was perfectly placed to capture Grealish's roaring facial expressions as fans almost immediately classed the celebration as one of the best they've ever seen.

One fan on X (formerly Twitter) wrote: "The camera shot of that grealish celebration was mint btw" while another said: "Well that celebration is going straight into the premiere league intro. Iconic to say the least". A third fan had a bit of jab at the England international after commenting: "Celebration was the most world class thing I’ve ever seen Jack Grealish produce".
Comparisons between the celebrations of Grealish and Diego Maradona from the 1994 World Cup where the Argentine scored against Greece and screamed into a camera were instantly made.

One fan said: "I know it's nothing similar but this reminded me of the Diego Maradona run into the camera, THAT famous one" as another noticed the similarities of the celebrations as they wrote: "Shades of the 'Maradona 1994' goal celebration from Grealish there".
A third X user suggested it was a "tribute" towards the late Argentine hero as they added: "A splendid Maradona tribute from Jack Grealish". While the goal looked like it would hand City the win, Dejan Kulusevski equalised for Spurs just eight minutes later to condemn Pep Guardiola's men to a third straight draw in the Premier League.

With a trip away to Aston Villa next up on the schedule, they'll have to do without both Rodri and former Villa star Grealish who are suspended for the game after picking up bookings against Spurs.
