Jose Mourinho ‘believes’ Tottenham striker Harry Kane will be fit for this weekend’s north London derby against Arsenal.
Mourinho previously said the Spurs captain was a doubt for Sunday’s clash at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, while refusing to discuss the nature of his injury.
Kane – who has enjoyed a superb start to the season, scoring eight goals and making 11 assists – missed Tottenham’s 3-3 draw against Europa League rivals Rapid Vienna on Thursday.
But Mourinho said after the six-goal thriller that he expects Kane to be fit for this weekend’s much-anticipated derby clash against Arsenal.
Asked for an update on Kane’s fitness, the Spurs boss said: ‘I believe Harry is going to be fit. I’m not sure.
‘He’s having treatment but I could be doing some bluff and pretend he’s in trouble, but he’s not and I think he’ll play [against Arsenal].’
Tottenham host Arsenal sitting top of the Premier League, while the Gunners are currently down in ninth after losing five of their last eight games.
