Sam Kerr scored for Chelsea on Sunday to capitalise on a first-half Jessie Fleming strike and help secure a 3-0 victory over Everton in Liverpool.
After a relatively quiet first half, Kerr caught the end of a perfectly weighted pass into the box from Swedish international Johanna Rytting Kaneryd to tap it in with her right foot.

Aggie Beever-Jones chipped in in the 90th minute to stretch the lead to three and extend Chelsea’s unbeaten run.
A first-half defensive error from Clare Wheeler had gifted Chelsea the lead in the Blues’ first game since the announcement that coach Emma Hayes would leave the club at the end of the season.
Wheeler’s clearance header went straight to Fleming, the experienced Canadian making no mistake as she volleyed the ball into the back of the net to give Chelsea an early buffer.
At Joie Stadium, a star-studded Manchester City boasting a swath of England internationals in addition to Matildas Mary Fowler and Alanna Kennedy fell to Brighton 1-0.
The game went to the break goalless after the visitors withstood an early barrage of City attacks, including a Chloe Kelly strike against the crossbar inside two minutes.

Those attacks continued into the second half as City bombarded the Brighton goal following the introduction at half-time of Lauren Hemp, who again combined brilliantly with Fowler and Kelly to orchestrate another dominant display that should have delivered victory to City.
Hemp narrowly missed putting away a Chloe Kelly cross in the 58th minute, while a Fowler strike inside 80 minutes was curbed by Brighton keeper Sophie Baggaley, who has impressed since signing from Manchester United.
The game turned after former Sydney FC defender Charlize Rule came off the bench for Brighton in the 78th minute in time to see teammate and fellow substitute Lee Geum-min snatch the lead against the run of place in the 81st minute.
Late City attacks proved fruitless as Brighton defended gallantly to secure a famous victory after more than seven minutes of injury that included yet another Hemp strike against the post.

Meanwhile, Mackenzie Arnold conceded five goals as the West Ham defence capitulated against Manchester United at the Leigh Sport Village.
The Matildas’ keeper was left stranded as Brazilian forward Geyse broke for United to ram home the opening goal in the third minute.
A lethal strike on 42 minutes by Millie Turner gave Arnold no chance, while an injury-time finish by Nikita Parris off an Ella Toone assist stretched the home side’s advantage to three goals to all but finish the game off before the half-time whistle.
Late second-half goals to United substitute Lucia Garcia and defender Jayde Riviere added to West Ham’s misery, the West London club now hovering dangerously close to the relegation zone with just one win from six starts.
In the late kickoff, Arsenal were playing Leicester City at King Power Stadium, with Caitlin Foord and Steph Catley expected to feature, and Kyra Cooney-Cross looking for more game time after her midweek starting debut in the club’s 3-1 League Cup win over Bristol. Courtney Nevin was also expected to feature for Leicester.
In the day’s other games, Tottenham and Liverpool drew 1-1 and Aston Villa were playing Bristol City in a battle of the WSL basement.
