Leeds United prepare Todd Cantwell bid as Marcelo Bielsa still has holes to fill

Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa is still keen to strengthen with a bid for Norwich star Todd Cantwell reportedly being prepared.

Leeds are back in the Premier League for the first time since 2004 and been involved in two 4-3 matches already.

They lost at champions Liverpool before beating Fulham with the Whites entertaining fans with their attacking football.

But it’s believed Bielsa still wants to improve his team further ahead of the October 5 transfer deadline.

Football Insider claim the Leeds want to sign an attacking midfielder and a number eight with a bid for Cantwell being readied.

Cantwell was one of Norwich’s brightest players last season as the Canaries were relegated from the Premier League.

He signed a new Carrow Road deal last year but it only runs until 2022 and Leeds reportedly have Cantwell in their sights.

Rodrigo, Diego Llorente, Helder Costa and Robin Koch are among those who have arrived at Elland Road this summer.

Bielsa said: “There is likely to be a couple of incorporations into the team, but in the case they they don’t come, we will adapt.

“Players' luck is natural and how it corresponds, they chose their teams rather than the managers that they play for.

In the case of Rodrigo Moreno, when I was at Lazio and maybe at other clubs where I have worked, we tried to sign him and he had better options than the one we were proposing. Logically, which I think is natural, he chose other clubs.
