Brendan Rodgers is looking to bolster his midfield ahead of the new season starting in August
Leicester’s head of recruitment Lee Congerton has had success identifying talent from France with centre-back Wesley Fofana proving an excellent acquisition from St Etienne.
Fofana knows Soumare well from the France U21 set-up and is understood to have played a part in convincing him of a move to the King Power Stadium.
Manager Brendan Rodgers has been keen to bolster his midfield and Soumare has been compared with former Manchester City star Yaya Toure in style and physique.
Rodgers also hopes to see Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard join in the coming weeks and is open to adding another winger and cover at full-back.
