Lionel Messi has hit back at comments made by Barcelona's technical secretary and former player Eric Abidal.
The Frenchman is now a hugely influential figure at the Nou Camp having called time on his career.
And he asserted that authority by making his feelings known prior to Ernesto Vavlerde's recent sacking and clearly felt a change was needed.
Abidal questioned whether players were happy with the Spaniard's methods having seen the Catalan giants struggle this season.
"A lot of players were not happy and did not work much and there was also a problem with internal communication," he told Sport.
"The relationship between the coach and dressing room was always good, but there are things that as an ex-player I can sense. I told the club what I thought and we had to make a decision."
But Messi has responded to those claims by insisting each member of the football club must look at themselves rather than point the finger at the manager.
The Argentine also felt Abidal's decision to go public was an error given how he had spoken for each individual player.
