Liverpool and Arsenal may become embroiled in a transfer battle for what could be a club-record sale. Andre Trindade has been linked with a move to both Premier League sides and it has been confirmed he is likely to leave Fluminense soon.
Andre, 22, has been linked with a move to Liverpool since the summer transfer window. Jurgen Klopp oversaw a major overhaul of his midfield, letting five players leave and bringing in four new signings.
Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai were early arrivals, while Wataru Endo and Ryan Gravenberch joined late in the window. But it appears Klopp is still in need of a natural defensive midfielder, with Mac Allister looking uncomfortable at times in that position.
Andre fits the bill and played a key role in Fluminense winning their first Copa Libertadores at the weekend. Club president Mario Bittencourt has since spoken on the future of Andre.

He says they are yet to receive an official proposal but it is expected that it will arrive after the Club World Cup in December. Bittencourt believes Andre will leave for what would be a record sale for Fluminense.
He told Globo: “We are waiting. Today, there is no concrete proposal for Andre. But we are sure that after the Club World Cup – he will play in the World Cup – a stratospheric proposal will arrive.
“It could be the biggest sale in the club’s history. We could possibly lose both (Andre and defender Nino), but we are working to replace them.”
That is good news for Liverpool but also for their Premier League rivals Arsenal. Speculation circled last month when Gunners sporting director Edu paid a visit to Fluminense’s academy training ground.

YouTube channel Hora do Flu has since claimed Arsenal are interested in signing Andre. The future of Thomas Partey is uncertain following another injury-disrupted start to the season.
Andre, who still has over three years remaining on his contract, has made 161 appearances in all competitions for Fluminense. He has won two caps for Brazil having made his debut earlier this year.
Last week, Andre revealed he is a fan of the Premier League but is unsure what the future holds. He told the Guardian: “I follow the Premier League a lot. It’s a very competitive league that demands a lot from players.
“But today my dream is to live day by day here in Fluminense. I don’t know what will happen in the future. I have a long contract at Fluminense and I really like being here.”
