Liverpool fans enjoy Lavia watching Chelsea car crash ‘for next seven years’

Liverpool fans were lapping up Romeo Lavia sitting in the stands once again to watch Chelsea's 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest.

Lavia, who turned down Anfield chiefs in favour of a seven-year contract with the Blues, is yet to feature for his new side following his £58million summer arrival from Southampton.

Mauricio Pochettino and his coaching staff have deemed him to be not up to scratch fitness wise and he's been forced to watch their last three matches in the executive's box at Stamford Bridge.

TV cameras caught him with a face of thunder on Saturday (September 2) afternoon after Anthony Elanga had given Forest a shock lead with his strike, which turned out to be the winner.

It was quickly picked up on by the Liverpool faithful on social media, with one tweeting a picture of Lavia with the caption: "Cheer up, you've got another seven years of this."

A second commented: "Laughing at Lavia and Chelsea." While a third teased: "Enjoy that money Lavia – project going very well."

"When you realise Todd Boehly did actually buy you for the lolz," joked a fourth, and a fifth quipped: "'Should never have listened to my bloody agent'."

A sixth also sarcastically added: "Romeo Lavia can’t even make the bench for this Chelsea side. Might not have been the greatest career choice."

There were concerns about Lavia's physical conditioning last season as the Saints were relegated from the Premier League, with ill-fated manager Nathan Jones publicly calling it out before he was sacked.

It seems he won't be making his Chelsea debut any time soon, with Pochettino saying last week: "He needs a few weeks to be ready to be involved with the team. He is working to try and catch his teammates. For Romeo we need to wait a few weeks."
