Wolves V Liverpool: Pictures
Liverpool have been praised from removing the Carlsberg logo from social media posts for religious reasons when congratulating Mohamed Salah after he was named man of the match against Wolves on Saturday. The winger was a constant threat down the right at the Molineux Stadium and played a key role in helping his side complete their comeback.
Jurgen Klopp’s side were forced to dig deep against Wolves after they found themselves behind after just seven minutes following Hee-Chan Hwang’s opener. The Reds then hit back through Cody Gakpo in the 55th minute when he was on hand to tap home from close range following a cross by Salah.
Liverpool continued to push and were rewarded for their efforts after Andrew Robertson put his side in front from a tight angle after a neat passing move saw him played through by Salah. Harvey Elliott then appeared to put the game the bed in added time when his strike nestled into the back of the net, though a deflection meant that it was awarded as a Hugo Bueno own goal.
Salah’ two assists meant that he was awarded man of the match on the day, and the Reds were thoughtful when congratulating the Egypt international for his performance. The forward is Muslim and in Islam, consuming alcohol is forbidden.

Liverpool supporters were quick to praise the actions of their club, with some showcasing previous posts when other stars were named Player of the Match to highlight the level of care shown by the media team.

Salah’s performance highlighted by Liverpool were so reluctant to part ways with him over the summer despite the lucrative bids from Saudi Arabian outfits towards the latter stages of the transfer window. The ex-Roma star remained quiet throughout speculation, and his teammate Robertson has praised the way that the No 11 continued to conduct himself professionally with so many reports circulating about his future.
The left-back said: “During the speculation, I thought he was superb on the pitch and there was a lot of talk outside it. Now that’s all done and dusted, I thought he put in a good second-half performance like we all did, first-half we all were not at it.
“He probably only gets credit when he gets goals which is slightly unfair, but he’s got us two assists today, he’s got us back in the game, created chances and second half he was really good.”
