Liverpool ‘WON’T make a move for Kylian Mbappe next summer – with Real Madrid seen as the most realistic option for the PSG star in either 2024 or 2025’
- The future of Kylian Mbappe continues to be an extremely sensitive topic at PSG

Liverpool are reportedly not interested in making a move for Kylian Mbappe next summer.
The saga over Mbappe’s future has been rumbling on for the past few years, with the French star touted to leave PSG and join Real Madrid upon the expiry of his contract in the summer of 2022.
However, he made a late u-turn and penned a new deal with the French giants until 2024, with the option of an extra year to 2025 that only he could activate.
His future came to the fore again in the summer when Mbappe was exiled from PSG’s squad after he informed the club he would not be utilising that extension, effectively leaving them vulnerable to losing the most valuable player in the world on a free transfer next summer.
However, according to Sky Sport in Germany, Mbappe – who was subsequently reintegrated at PSG and has played a starring role this season – will not be moving to Anfield.

The Reds had been linked with a move for the France and PSG star but it is not seen as feasible

This comes despite Liverpool being linked with the 24-year-old in recent years as they look to line up a long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah.
Sky Sport reporter Florian Plettenberg added the rumours were ‘not hot’ and said: ‘We’ve had that confirmed clearly from Liverpool. Mbappe and Klopp – that probably won’t work.’
The report goes onto claim PSG remain relaxed around his contractual situation despite his deal expiring next summer.
Real Madrid – who thought they had done enough to sign Mbappe in 2022 – remain the most realistic destination for him, whether that is in 2024 or 2025.
During his exile from Luis Enrique’s squad in the summer, Mbappe was left out of the club’s pre-season tour of Japan and South Korea and forced to train with a group that become known as the ‘undesirables’ – players who PSG were trying to force out.
Mbappe was then reintegrated after missing the first game of the season against Lorient.
PSG remain desperate to extend Mbappe’s contract, with the French forward in superb form
He has netted 14 goals in 12 Ligue 1 games and a move to Real Madrid is seen as more realistic
Despite the constant speculation over his future, Mbappe shows no signs of letting it distract him after scoring 14 goals in 12 Ligue 1 outings this season.
He also netted an injury time penalty against Newcastle this week to draw the game 1-1, which kept PSG’s hopes of reaching the Champions League knockout stages in their own hands.
Understandably, PSG remain keen to extend his contract and the noise surrounding his future is likely to only increase in the coming weeks and months.
