Perrone has made 33 appearances for Argentine club Velez this season. During those outings, he has scored two goals and registered three assists.

He has also represented the U20 Argentina team three times but it remains to be seen if he’ll feature for City this season.

The defensive midfielder will have to battle it out with Rodri and Kalvin Phillips for a place in Guardiola’s side.

City have opened talks over a new contract for Ilkay Gundogan, who has an offer to join Barcelona in the summer.

The 32-year-old midfielder has scored 51 goals in 278 appearances for the Premier League giants.

He has also won four Premier League titles during his six years in Manchester, as well as four League Cups and an FA Cup.
