Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford’s meeting has delighted fans on social media.

The pair are former team-mates from their Manchester United days, where they came up through the youth system at Old Trafford and played for the senior team together.

Lingard and Rashford have also featured for England since 2016, though Lingard is more out of the international picture at the moment.

They are close friends and on Monday evening, ‘J-Lingz’ posted on his social media page showing the duo reuniting.

In an Instagram post to his 9.5million followers on the platform, Lingard displayed a snap of them posing together and shaking hands with the caption: ‘They don’t get it coz they don’t get it.’

As part of the same post, he uploaded a video of him smashing in the goals in training, along with more images of him chilling out with friends, and a motivational quote saying: ‘It’s on YOU, to get YOU, where YOU want to be.’ 

And supporters revelled in their reunion in the comments on Instagram.

One said: ‘Lingz X Rashy,’ followed by a fire emoji.

Another added: ‘My duo innit.’

A third posted: ‘you cannot just casually drop a pic of you and marcus and expect me to be okay.’

While one continued: ‘I CAN SEE UNCLE RASHY.’

And another concluded: ‘Jlingz&Rashy,’ followed by two heart emojis. 

Nottingham Forest midfielder Lingard has struggled to gain a place in Steve Cooper’s relegation-battling side, only recording one assist and zero goals in 17 league games, while Rashford has 29 goals in all competitions this campaign.
