Joe Cole has praised Manchester United for their resilient 3-1 win against West Ham on Wednesday evening, claiming ‘they look like a team that know how to win.’
It comes as Erik ten Hag’s side showed their resilience to come back from going a goal down in the second half, to qualify for the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.
Said Benrahma gave the visitors the lead just after half time, but United responded with Nayef Aguerd conceding an own goal before Alejandro Garnacho and Fred, who came on as a substitute, both scored late on.
After the game, the former West Ham player, paid tribute to their resilience, and also paid tribute to the manager’s tactics.
‘United look like a team that know how to win,’ Cole said.
‘Going 1-0 down at old Trafford you know sometimes we’ve been here recently and the crowd would be getting on their back.

Cole also suggested that Erik ten Hag’s changes (pictured) helped the side get the win
‘But this team and this manager, he’s just made a few changes and not only has he changed them but he’s changed their style too.’
Doubts were cast at halftime by the punditry team over whether Man United were still hungover from their Carabao Cup triumph against Newcastle on Sunday.
But Roy Keane, who was critical of his former side’s performance in the opening term, concurred with Cole, also lauding Ten Hag’s tactics.
‘The manager has taken a gamble with a few changes,’ Keane said speaking about the rotations the Dutchman had made prior to the game.

The goal was Garnacho’s fourth for the club across all competitions, his second this season
‘But they sorted themselves out. They had contributions from players off the bench and some good set pieces.’
Ten Hag had made six changes ahead of the match from their Carabao Cup triumph at the weekend, that included swapping out defenders Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez and Luke Shaw, for Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and Tyrell Malacia.
On the 46th minute he made his first tactical change, bringing Casemiro on for Scott McTominay, just before West Ham went a goal up.
He looked to the bench soon after, bringing Martinez, Marcus Rashford and Fred into the fold.

Noting the strength of United’s bench, Ian Wright and Keane suggested that while West Ham missed opportunities, United’s substitutions were poised to come on and help win the match late on.
Wright said: ‘If you miss chances like west ham did, they’ve got people who can come on, the cavalry, and finish it off.’
Agreeing with the former Arsenal striker, Kean said: ‘It (substitutes) has an effect on West Ham, as the pressure is building and you’re seeing players of that quality (Casemiro) coming on and it becomes a long last ten minutes.’
Man United will advance to the next round of the tournament where they will play Fulham at Old Trafford.
