Man United Q&A Live: What next for the Red Devils after abject Champions League display? Chris Wheeler answers all your questions

Follow Mail Sport’s live blog as Chris Wheeler answers all your questions around Manchester United following their Champions League exit where they finished bottom of the group.

2. Lots of people want to know what kind of pressure Ten Hag now finds himself under. With Sir Jim Ratcliffe's part ownership soon to be finalised, is he now looking over his shoulder?

CHRIS WHEELER: I don’t think any Manchester United manager can spend £400m on new players, lose half of 24 games this season and finish bottom of a pretty average Champions League group without being concerned about his job.

Ten Hag has been hit hard by injuries to key players this season but performances have been way below expectations.

I think the delay over Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s £1.25billion investment, and state of flux that has created at the club, will help Ten Hag in the short-term. The current regime has no appetite to sack him and will happily pass the buck to Ratcliffe who could be months away from having any operational control.

But once the INEOS team are in the building, I fear for Ten Hag. They have been watching this debacle of a season and are not coming in to sit on their hands.

Unless there is a dramatic improvement in the second half of the season, he is in big trouble.

1. Now that the dust has settled on last night and United are out, where does this failed group stage rank in United's recent European disasters?

CHRIS WHEELER: Right up there!

The fact it’s only the second time United have finished bottom of their group, four points was the club’s lowest-ever total, and 15 goals conceded is worse than any English team in Champions League history, tells its own story.

I can’t think of a worse campaign, and I’ve seen them all. Bayern Munich are obviously a top side, but United should have qualified ahead of FC Copenhagen and Galatasaray, no doubt about it.

Those late defeats to Galatasaray at Old Trafford and Copenhagen in Denmark really hurt. It’s been a chaotic campaign with high-scoring ties and lots of goals.

Just when United needed a big finale, they produced a really insipid display against Bayern last night.

I take the point that you can’t be too gung-ho against an attack of that quality, but to go out so tamely topped off a thoroughly miserable campaign.
