Man Utd add Norwich man to list of three other British midfield transfer targets

Manchester United have reportedly added Norwich City star Todd Cantwell to their list of midfield transfer targets.

The 21-year-old Englishman has been a stand out performer for the Canaries this season on their return to the Premier League .

He has also attracted the interest of rivals Manchester City and Tottenham after bagging six goals so far this season, according to the Daily Mail .

The £30m-rated attacking midfielder joins other young British players that are being targeted by the Red Devils.

In a change of their usual policy, United have focussed their transfer efforts on young, British players recently.

Last summer the club spent close to £150m on Harry Maguire, Daniel James, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka and that is set to continue.

Despite beating champions City this season, Norwich have struggled on their return to the big time and sit bottom of the Premier League.

They will be determined not to let one of their top performers leave the club in January as they look to stave off relegation.

But whether they stay up or not, Cantwell is likely to move on to pastures new in the summer.

But the midfielder’s contract at Carrow Road does not expire until 2022 so the club are in no rush to cash in on the youngster.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is on the lookout for midfield reinforcements after injuries to Scott McTominay and Paul Pogba.
