Man Utd boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer drops Facundo Pellistri debut hint ahead of West Ham

Arsenal target Facundo Pellistri shows off his skills for Peñarol

Manchester United teenager Facundo Pellistri could be in line to make his full debut for the club against West Ham this weekend. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer discussed the new signing at his pre-match press conference on Friday.

Pellistri is yet to play for the senior side since joining from Penarol this summer.

The Uruguayan youngster joined on transfer deadline day in a deal believed to be in the region of £9million.

Despite suggestions that he would be loaned out after arriving, Solskjaer insisted he would be in and around the senior setup.

His only appearances so far have come for the youth team, and he has looked impressive.

Pellistri has been included in Solskjaer’s matchday squads for Champions League fixtures against Paris Saint-Germain and Istanbul Basaksehir, but didn’t come off the bench.

However, speaking on Friday, the Norwegian boss hinted that he could be involved against West Ham.

United travel to the London Stadium on Saturday evening to face David Moyes’ Hammers and will be eager to put their disappointing Champions League defeat at the hands of PSG behind them.

Solskjaer said of Pellistri: “Facundo has come in trained with the first-team, he’s done well.

“We felt now is time for him to get game time.

“He played a couple of games in reserves, gradually settled in nicely and is more used to us.”

Solskjaer also provided an update on fellow new signing Amad Diallo, who is set to join in January after a deal was agreed in the summer with Atalanta.

The winger is still awaiting a work permit before he can travel to Manchester to become a United player, but the Norwegian is confident all will be sorted in time.

Solskjaer said: “Amad has come on a few times for Atalanta and is a very exciting talent.

“Hopefully we’ll get the work permit and he’ll be with us in January.

“He’s a very, very exciting boy as well.’
