Ten Hag wants no easing up from Man Utd before end of season
Manchester United are, according to reports, eyeing Adrien Rabiot on a free transfer this summer. The Juventus star’s contract in Turin is due to expire at the end of the season and, currently, he’s yet to sign a renewal. And with Erik ten Hag apparently set to have just £100million this summer, released players could end up coming to Old Trafford…
United eyed Rabiot last summer, after missing out on Frenkie de Jong, only for the deal to break down.
They proceeded to land Casemiro instead, with the Brazil international shining ever since his blockbuster move from Real Madrid.
Now, however, United appear to be keen on Rabiot again.
Reports have claimed Erik ten Hag has already spoken to the player, who would bring experience to the Dutchman’s side in the event of any Old Trafford move.
So, amid suggestions United won’t have a bottomless pit of cash to spend this summer, Express Sport now takes a look at other free agents who could be of interest…
Man Utd transfers: Ten Hag wants another Pogba and it makes sense
It’s rather baffling that nobody has decided to swoop for Youri Tielemans just yet.
Granted, the Leicester star has experienced a difficult season with his side looking increasingly likely to be relegated to the Championship.
But Tielemans has long been a consistent performer and would be an asset to most teams in the top flight.
United were linked in January, before ultimately opting to land Marcel Sabitzer on loan from Bayern Munich instead.
Tielemans looks primed to leave Leicester, regardless of whether they beat the drop or not, and he’d be a shrewd signing for Ten Hag to make.

After Cristiano Ronaldo left the club in November, there was talk of United pursuing a deal for Marcus Thurham.
That obviously didn’t happen in the end, with Wout Weghorst touching down on a temporary basis from Burnley.
But Thurham is set to leave Borussia Monchengladbach and is attracting interest from many top clubs, with Bayern Munich thought to be keen.
The 25-year-old has scored 16 goals and clocked up six assists from 30 games this season.
United could do with that sort of composure in front of goal as they look to strengthen in attack.

United have re-signed three players in recent years.
Paul Pogba returned in 2016, with the Juventus star returning to Old Trafford after four years away.
And United, in 2021, proceeded to bring the likes of Tom Heaton and Cristiano Ronaldo back to the club as well.
So how about Wilfried Zaha?
He hated life in Manchester the first time around but, as his Crystal Palace contract winds down, he’s now a footballer mature enough to shine at the club if given a chance of redemption.
United have long admired Moussa Dembele.
And it’s easy to forget the France international is still only 26. It feels like he’s been playing forever, having had stints at Fulham, Celtic, Atletico Madrid and Lyon over the years.
Like Thurham and Tielemans, he was also linked with United in January.
As things stand, the France international is expected to leave Lyon for free.
And he could be a low-cost, low-risk signing if Ten Hag decides to revive interest in a player previously targeted during the reins of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Jose Mourinho.
