Manchester United reportedly retain an interest in Ivan Perisic and Douglas Costa as they continue to seek a breakthrough in negotiations for Borussia Dortmund's Jadon Sancho.
Sancho has been top of United's transfer wishlist this summer but their efforts to sign the England star have been strongly resisted by the German club.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is desperate not to miss out on Sancho again as it would leave them vulnerable to rival clubs entering the race to sign him next summer.
But contingency plans have been drawn up in the event they fail to persuade Dortmund to sell Sancho.

Man Utd's stance on Erling Haaland transfer has also seen Sergio Reguilon go to Tottenham
According to the Evening Standard, United are still considering moves for Ivan Perisic and Douglas Costa, who have been made available by their clubs.
Perisic spent last season on loan at Bayern Munich and won the treble with the German giants but they opted not to make the deal permanent and he has returned to Inter Milan.
Costa has had an injury-hit spell at Juventus and they are willing to cut their losses with the Brazilian winger.
United have been linked with both players in previous transfer windows but while Solskjaer has demanded United get Sancho, Perisic and Costa are decent alternatives.
Meanwhile, new boy Donny van de Beek says he is inspired by the clutch of great Dutch players who wore the United shirt in the past.
Van de Beek has followed the likes of Robin van Persie, Edwin van der Sar, Jaap Stam and Ruud van Nistelrooy in moving to Old Trafford from Ajax earlier this month.
And the midfielder has revealed he used to watch United as a child and is keen to emulate them by being successful.
"I watched United a lot [when I was younger] because a lot of Dutch players have played here and this was nice to watch if you're a young kid and you see the Dutch players there," Van de Beek told Inside United magazine.
"Daley (Blind), Edwin, Robin van Persie… you see them. They won a lot of titles and United always played nice football, which was always good to see."
