Anthony Martial’s return from injury helped Manchester United to regain their Premier League form against Everton on Saturday.
The Frenchman had missed the last three league games after his red-card in the 6-1 thrashing against Tottenham last month.
Despite Martial playing a pivotal role at Goodison Park, his return didn’t get off to the perfect start.
A clip that has gone viral across social media shows the forward forgetting about the traditional kneel before kick-off.
Since Project Restart in June, Premier League players have shown solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement, by taking a knee before the game starts.
However, the United forward was seen sprinting into the Toffees half before he strolled back with the rest of his teammates to take the knee.
United didn’t get off to a perfect start against Everton, with Bernard putting the hosts in front.
But a brace from Bruno Fernandes and an Edinson Cavani strike earned them all three points in a potentially pivotal game for boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Following the win, Solskjaer launched a furious rant on Premier League bosses, claiming they had set up his players to fail.
“I said to you before, I want to talk to you about the kick-off time, before the game, and this has set up the boys to fail,” he told BT Sport.
Harry Maguire hits back at Man Utd’s jealous critics who hope they lose
“We’ve got Luke Shaw injured today because we’ve been to Turkey, we’ve had loads of games this season already.
“And we’ve been to Turkey on Wednesday night, back Thursday morning and we’re playing Saturday, lunchtime kick-off?
“It’s an absolute shambles and I can’t praise the boys enough for that character they’ve shown. That’s all I want to talk about today.
“Those boys, they deserve better than being thrown out here to fail today.”
