Arsenal could land Manchester City star Ilkay Gundogan over the summer without affecting their pursuit of Declan Rice.
Gundogan lifted the Premier League trophy for City on Sunday afternoon after their final home game of the season. Arsenal hearts were broken by Nottingham Forest, who crowned City champions by beating the Gunners 1-0.
And, according to The Atheltic, Arsenal could turn to City centrepiece Gundogan – who is out of contract this summer. Mikel Arteta is leading the push, having worked with the German during his spell as Pep Guardiola's assistant in the blue half of Manchester.

City have made fresh efforts to sit down with Gundogan in previous weeks, with the German proving invaluable during the title run-in with a series of key goals and assists.
However, there has been no breakthrough in negotiations, and numerous reports suggest City have started to look at Joshua Kimmich as a possible replacement. Meanwhile, Arsenal could swoop in for the 32-year-old.
Barcelona have been interested in Gundogan for the past couple of seasons – and reports from Spain suggest the Catalan side are prepared to offer him a two-year deal.

Arsenal are also keen on England West Ham star Rice, who appeared to wave the London Stadium goodbye over the weekend.
Rice gave the Hammers a perfect farewell as he impressed fans with a brilliant display against a poor Leeds United side. Rice was on the scoresheet – netting West Ham's equaliser – and his attention will now turn to the Europa Conference League final.
However, Rice has made no secret about his desire to play Champions League football – which Arsenal would be able to offer his next season. West Ham could demand the Gunners fork out a fee north of £100million for his services.
