Mikel Arteta insists his Arsenal side have shown they are capable of playing at the top level after they beat Chelsea 3-1 on Saturday evening.
The Gunners secured one of their best wins this season on Boxing Day, outplaying London rivals Chelsea to secure a comfortable victory.
The three points were the first Arsenal have picked up since beating Manchester United on November 1.
And Arteta hopes that the taste of success will inspire more over the next few weeks.
"It's a really big win for us,” said the Spaniard. "We were really disappointed with the results – not so much the performances.

"The injuries, the Covid, playing 10 men…you start to think what do we need to win a match."
Arteta thinks that the change in result came from a change in tempo from the outset, admitting that the early goal made all the difference.

“We started really, really well, we were on top, and that, again, elevated the level of confidence in the team.
“You start with real momentum, you are dominant, we created chances straight away then that gives confidence.
“Then the team had belief, we scored the first one, we worked for the second one, the third one we scored.
“Then in the end we end up a little bit hanging in there, but I think that’s related to the moment we are in.”
