Moises Caicedo’s agent hints at Chelsea regret as he discusses Liverpool saga

Moises Caicedo's agent has hinted at regret towards his blockbuster transfer to Chelsea after Liverpool's approach failed.

The 21-year-old, who wanted to join Arsenal last season, signed for Chelsea on an eight-year contract for an intial fee of £100million. That move came after Liverpool's interest was snubbed – despite them having a 'more stabilised project'.

Manual Sierra of Football Division Worldwide, is a representative of Caicedo as well as several other young talents making their way in the game. He has now spoken about the deal publicly in a chat regarding his work.

"When Liverpool came and approached in that way, obviously Moises gets dizzy, I get dizzy myself," he told Futbol sin Cassette. "But Chelsea were by our side at all times asking us to go, they wanted an hour so that we could tell Brighton, so that they could match the offer and they gave them an hour and it ended in two days of negotiation."

Caicedo has since revealed that that interest from Liverpool did flatter him, a claim that Sierra agreed with. He added: "It is very complicated, imagine that Jurgen Klopp is writing to you, that Liverpool is calling you.

"We are talking about something very big. One of the best teams in the world, just like Chelsea, and with a more established and more stabilised project than what Chelsea have today, which is a very ambitious project with a view to two, three years ahead."

Caicedo has made seven appearances so far for Chelsea including a full 90 minutes in their back-to-back wins over Brighton and Fulham. The Ecuador international, who already has 34 caps to his name, has the faith of Mauricio Pochettino to be a key part of their £1billion era under Todd Boehly.
