Nottingham Forest are keen to keep Dean Henderson at the club past the end of the season.
The goalkeeper is currently on loan at the City Ground from Manchester United, where he has two years remaining on his contract.
He has not featured since January after picking up a thigh injury that could rule him out until August, but Steve Cooper sees him as a long-term option as he looks to stabilise his squad after a string of signings over the past year.
Keylor Navas arrived in January as an emergency replacement on loan from Paris Saint-Germain.
The Costa Rican stopped has impressed in a campaign that saw Forest confirm their Premier League status for another season by beating Arsenal on Saturday, but will return to Paris at the end of the season.

Forest are believed to have informed Henderson of their plan to keep him at the club after Saturday’s vital win, and the 26-year-old may be keen on staying in a side where he is likely to enjoy regular Premier League football.
Cooper is also eyeing Fulham goalkeeper George Wickens as a potential back-up to Henderson.
The 21-year-old, who is in the last year of his contract, is third choice for Marco Silva but is keen to play more and has admirers at Luton Town and Southampton.
Forest are likely to seem the most attractive option as a side that has already secured their Premier League status, while Southampton will play in the Championship next season and Luton need to beat Coventry in their play-off final on Saturday to gain a spot in the top flight.
The Tricky Trees will face Crystal Palace in their final game of the season, and while they are already safe, a win would take them to the fables 40 point mark.
