Phil Foden and Mason Greenwood ‘attempted to sneak four girls in Iceland hotel’

England duo Phil Foden and Mason Greenwood are now alleged to have tried to sneak up to four girls into the team hotel.

The pair have been reprimanded by manager Gareth Southgate after allowing model Nadia Sif Lindal Gunnarsdottir, 20, into the Three Lions' hotel.

She was also joined by 19-year-old law student cousin Lara Clausen after Gareth Southgate’s side beat Iceland 1-0 on Saturday.

Foden and Greenwood spoke with the pair before inviting them up, where footage was then captured by the girls and spread on social media.

Both players were subsequently sent home as punishment for breaking Covid-19 regulations, a day after making their full international debuts.

Neither will take part in England's Nations League clash with Denmark tonight, and they have each publicly apologised.

It now emerges Nadia and Lara were not the only women to have been in contact with the two England players.

Manchester United ’s Greenwood and Manchester City ’s Foden are said to have flirted with at least four local girls and discussed going to their hotel, according to the Daily Mail .

Not all the women did in the end, though, and the two that did booked themselves two rooms on a separate floor away from the rest of the team.

They then allegedly spent a few hours at the hotel, leaving before breakfast, and even paid for the rooms themselves.

One photo taken during the evening was of father-of-one Foden, who has a long-term girlfriend.

It shows the City playmaker, 20, in his boxers facing away from the camera with his bottom hanging out on show.

18-year-old Greenwood has since deleted his Twitter account, while the state of their futures in the England set up remains in question.

Speaking on the incident on Monday, Southgate said: “Two of the boys have broken the Covid-19 guidelines, in terms of our secure bubble. We had to decide very quickly that they couldn't have any interaction with the rest of the team and wouldn't be able to train.

“Obviously they have been naive. We have dealt with it appropriately. I recognise their age but the whole world is dealing with this pandemic. Now they will have to travel back to England separately.

“Nothing has happened in the areas we occupy in the hotel.”
