Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has made several comments about sacked PSG manager Thomas Tuchel, who is now being linked with the job at Arsenal.
Mikel Arteta was under heavy fire before the 3-0 win over Chelsea on Saturday, which will no doubt have alleviated some of the pressure on his shoulders.
The victory only lifted the Gunners up to 14th in the Premier League though, and there is still a lot of disappointment around the club’s season so far.
One man who has been tipped to replace Arteta is German coach Tuchel, who was very recently sacked by PSG.
The 47-year-old was in charge at Borussia Dortmund from 2015–2017, where he worked closely with Aubameyang before allowing him to be sold to Arsenal.
Tuchel, who replaced the Liverpool-bound Jurgen Klopp, managed to get the best out of Aubameyang, though their fortunes in the Bundesliga and Champions League were fairly average.
The Gabon international spoke highly of Tuchel in 2018 when he was being tipped to replace Arsene Wenger.
“He’s one of the best coaches that I’ve had,” said Aubameyang.
"I can’t deny his talent. He’s someone a bit crazy, a little like me."
Tuchel has been compared to Manchester City tactician Pep Guardiola in the past – a comparison Aubameyang can’t say he disagrees with.
He added: ”You could say that his style is a bit like that of Guardiola. In any case, they play with the same spirit.
"He likes to keep the ball with a style of play that likes to see the ball move forward, no matter what happens.
"I think he’s got the stuff. Now, it’ll be up to him to prove it."
