Real Madrid are not looking to sign Cristiano Ronaldo back from Juventus this summer. Instead, Florentino Perez and Zinedine Zidane will ramp up the club’s efforts to land Erling Haaland or Harry Kane in the transfer window.
Real Madrid have ruled out a raid on Juventus to sign back their club legend Ronaldo in the transfer window.
It comes amid growing speculation that the Portugal international is not happy in Turin after their poor Serie A and Champions League performance.
The 35-year-old is out of contract at the end of next season and costs Juve €30m in wages per annum.
There have been question marks over where Ronaldo will end up next and a return to Real had been mooted.
The superstar forward is an undisputed legend at the Bernabeu, having scored 450 goals in 438 matches at the club, winning a list of trophies.
But according to Melchor Ruiz, Ronaldo will not be heading back to Madrid with Los Blancos looking for the next big thing.
Instead, club president Perez has his sights set on either Borussia Dortmund hotshot Haaland or Tottenham talisman Kane.
Paris St-Germain frontman Mbappe has long been admired by Zidane while the Frenchman’s contract at the Parc des Princes expires in June 2022.
Haaland, though, is now the priority after a stunning season in the Bundesliga, reports Melchor Ruiz.
The Norway international has 33 goals in 31 appearances this campaign – including 10 in six Champions League matches.
If the 20-year-old cannot be signed, Mbappe will be targeted next – though any decision will have to be made in the summer.
PSG are working tirelessly to pen the France international to a new contract which would effectively any pursuit Real have planned.
That would mean another attempt to sign Kane, a player Perez has had his eye on for a long time.
As Tottenham head towards another disappointing campaign, the Englishman has been reported to want a move away in a bid to fill his trophy cabinet before it is too late.
