Erik ten Hag previews Burnley clash
Erik ten Hag’s treatment of Jadon Sancho has contributed to the current unrest in his Manchester United dressing room, according to reports. Sancho remains banished after taking to social media earlier this month to effectively call Ten Hag a liar over his exclusion in the 3-1 defeat at Arsenal.
Ten Hag left Sancho at home and confirmed it was due to his training levels at Carrington after full-time at the Emirates Stadium.
The 23-year-old promptly responded by posting a statement on X (formerly Twitter), questioning his manager’s real reasoning for the eye-catching snub.
The pair held showdown talks during the international break, but Sancho’s refusal to apologise for his actions escalated the matter.
United chief executive Richard Arnold and football director John Murtough intervened as they struggled to settle their differences.
And Ten Hag called for Sancho to face banishment from his first-team squad until he apologised for publicly challenging his authority.
Sancho has missed defeats to Brighton and Hove Albion and Bayern Munich and hasn’t yet returned to senior training at Carrington.

On Friday, Ten Hag confirmed that his No 25 wouldn’t be travelling to Turf Moor for Saturday’s Premier League clash against Burnley.
And the build-up has been plagued by reports claiming several United players are starting to grow tired of Ten Hag’s criticism amid their dire form.
The Dutchman has offered honest public assessments after recent defeats, and some stars allegedly believe he has favourites who are immune from criticism.
Sancho reportedly shared those grievances under Ten Hag while he’s watched Marcus Rashford and Antony become undroppable.
According to talkSPORT, a group of United stars’ increasing frustration with Ten Hag stems from his strict treatment of Sancho.
Some are said to disagree with the England international’s banishment, which has left United short of attacking options.

Antony is also unavailable as he takes a leave of absence to address domestic abuse allegations in Brazilian media.
The 23-year-old vehemently denies any wrongdoing and has vowed to prove his innocence. However, he agreed to stay away from United until the investigation was resolved.
With Sancho out of the picture, Ten Hag unsuccessfully switched to a narrow diamond in the Brighton defeat and handed Facundo Pellistri his second start at Bayern.
Mason Mount is nearing a return from injury and could take up the mantle as early as against Burnley this weekend.
But Sancho’s continued absence has seemingly contributed to the dressing room turmoil Ten Hag must navigate around to ensure the wheels don’t come off his project.
