More people viewed Sky Sports' coverage of Manchester United's postponed fixture with Liverpool than the two separate games involving wins for Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
Approximately 1.4million viewers tuned in as the match at Old Trafford was delayed due to protests by United supporters at Old Trafford and in Manchester city centre.
Taking a stand against the club's unpopular owners, the Glazer family, some fans gained access to the Old Trafford pitch as doubts were raised over the game going ahead.
Supporters elsewhere had blocked the entrance of the Lowry Hotel, where both sets of players were staying prior to kick-off, as serious questions were raised over player safety.
Greater Manchester Police confirmed two police officers were left injured with one officer being 'attacked with a bottle and sustaining a significant slash wound to his face, requiring emergency hospital treatment.'
As Sky awaited confirmation as to whether or not the game could go ahead as planned, the punditry team in attendance spoke at length about the protests before moving on to discuss United's summer transfer plans.
The match was eventually called off and deemed unsafe to take place, but more people still chose to watch the unfolding events as opposed to the other two Super Sunday fixtures of Newcastle versus Arsenal and Tottenham versus Sheffield United.
The Gunners claimed a comfortable 2-0 win over the Magpies in the 2pm kick-off thanks to goals from Mohamed Elneny and Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang, meanwhile Spurs eased to a 4-0 victory against Sheffield United in the late match.
It remains to be seen whether or not the Red Devils will be punished by the Premier League for the actions of their supporters, with a possible points deduction being discussed.
A new date for a rearranged fixture involving United and Liverpool is yet to be announced.
