There is just five days left until Christmas but that doesn’t mean a pause in football’s rumour mill ahead of the January transfer window.
As injuries wrack up and a packed fixture list begins to take its toll, a number of Premier League sides are assessing whether their ranks have the necessary depth to challenge in the second-half of the season.
It was reported yesterday that Manchester United won’t see any significant arrivals in the January transfer window as they focus on finding clubs for their current players including Jadon Sancho.
But other clubs such as Newcastle – who have been decimated by injuries – might opt to fill holes in their squad come January.
