West Brom vs Aston Villa live stream: How to watch Premier League fixture online and on TV tonight

West Bromwich Albion host Aston Villa on Sunday evening in the Premier League as Sam Allardyce makes his return to club management.

The Baggies opted to sack Slaven Bilic during the week, despite bringing the club up from the Championship last season and with his final fixture in charge being a creditable draw against Manchester City in midweek. Allardyce has not had a top-flight job in two-and-a-half years and he is tasked with keeping West Brom in the Premier League, though they sit 19th at the start of Sunday and could even go bottom before he oversees his first match if Sheffield United beat Brighton earlier in the day.

Aston Villa are in far better shape, with Dean Smith’s team just outside the top half – but having played two, and in some cases three, games fewer than other clubs.

A 0-0 draw with Burnley last time out was somewhat uninspiring, but Villa have won more than half their games this season and their away form is one of the best in the league, with four wins from five so far – all of which is in contrast to last season’s struggles which saw Villa survive the drop on the final day of the campaign.

What is the team news?

Matheus Pereira is suspended after his recent red card, while Kyle Bartley and Conor Townsend are injury absences for the Baggies. Hal Robson-Kanu must pass a late fitness test to be involved.

Aston Villa have a doubt over Ross Barkley and Ezri Konsa, but Trezeguet is definitely out. Wesley is still on the comeback trail after his year-long injury absence, but Douglas Luiz and Matty Cash are back after suspension.

Predicted line-ups

WBA: Johnstone; Furlong, O’Shea, Ajayi, Gibbs; Sawyers; Phillips, Gallagher, Livermore, Diangana; Grant.

AST: Martinez; Cash, Hause, Mings, Targett; Luiz, McGinn; El Ghazi, Barkley, Grealish; Watkins.

Odds

West Brom – 19/5

Draw – 16/5

Aston Villa – 4/5

Prediction

West Brom might be rejuvenated and working hard to show the new manager they should be in his plans, but Pereira is a big miss. Villa have the quality to expose the gaps in the defence which Allardyce won’t yet have had time to fix, so they should be good for some kind of positive result. West Brom 1-1 Aston Villa
