Why Shaqiri not Alisson or Keita was Liverpool’s best business this summer

Xherdan Shaqiri has been branded Jurgen Klopp’s best summer business by Liverpool legend John Aldridge.

Swiss forward Shaqiri joined the Reds from Stoke during the last transfer window for what has become a bargain £13million.

The Reds also signed No.1 keeper Alisson along with midfielders Naby Keita and Fabinho.

Shaqiri has added quality depth for the Merseyside club in their bid to win their first league title since 1990 – 29 seasons ago – and bagged his first goal for the club during their 4-1 thrashing of Cardiff on Saturday.

He has also created two more Premier League assists in six appearances, alongside star turns in the Champions League.

And Reds legend Aldridge has given the former Inter Milan and Bayern Munich ace his seal of approval, as originally reported in the Liverpool Echo.
