Khabib Nurmagomedov would not do a season of The Ultimate Fighter with Conor McGregor even if he was offered $5 billion, as he doesn’t want to give the Irishman any positive attention.
The explosive idea had been floated by UFC president Dana White for the two former opponents to act as coaches on a season of TUF, ahead of a future rematch between the two.
Khabib forced McGregor to submit in their first meeting in October 2018 and a second contest has been touted numerous times by both McGregor and White since then.
The UFC lightweight champion cannot rule out fighting the Notorious again, but he has confirmed he would not play into his hands and agree to the proposal of coaching TUF, not for any amount of money.
‘The Ultimate Fighter’ with him is good attention for him,’ Nurmagomedov told ESPN. ‘I don’t want to give him this. I never give him this.
‘Even if they give me $5 billion, even if they gave me the UFC, I never do this. This is good attention for him.
‘It’s done. Everything is done October 6, 2018 I finish him. I finish everything about him.
‘I had new challenge in Dustin Poirier and now Justin Gaethje. We’ll see who it’s going to be next, but I don’t think it’s going to be Conor McGregor.’
Khabib followed his fourth round submission of McGregor by forcing Dustin Poirier to tap out in September last year and now takes on Gaethje at UFC 254 on 24 October in the third defence of his lightweight belt.
The Eagle has made no secret of his plan for Gaethje. which is the same plan he takes into all his fights, dismissing the Highlight as ‘just a tough guy.’
‘I think my fighting IQ is much better than Justin Gaethje. He’s just a tough guy,’ Khabib told RT.
‘He likes fighting, he likes blood. He’s like a real warrior. But if we’re talking about fighting IQ, I think my fighting IQ is much better than he has.
‘I’m going to try wrestling with him. If he’s going to defend my takedown one time, I’m going to try a second, third. I’m gonna try 100 times. And of course I’m going to box with him, I’m going to kick with him.
‘He’s going to be kickboxing and wrestling, a mix. I’m going to make him tired.
‘This is my goal. And maybe in round number three, round number four, my plan is finish him.’
