Luton chief executive Gary Sweet described Tuesday\u2019s fixture as a \u2018significant landmark\u2019, adding it was \u2018miraculous\u2019 they managed to get it done in three months.<\/p>\n<p>After being forced to wait for their first home game of the 2023-24 season, it took Luton only one minute and 37 seconds to score as Jacob Brown buried the ball into the far corner.<\/p>\n<p>In the 28th minute, Alfie Doughty made it 2-0 with a 30-yard scorcher. \u2018Premier League, we\u2019re having a laugh,\u2019 sang Luton\u2019s supporters in response to the Gillingham end\u2019s earlier taunts.<\/p>\n<p>Luton manager Rob Edwards had made eight changes to his team from their 3-0 defeat at Chelsea on Friday but it was so far, so good.<\/p>\n<p>After 55 minutes, however, it was 2-1 thanks to Jayden Clarke\u2019s solo run and finish.
