Joao Felix would not be interested in joining Liverpool to replace Mohamed Salah if the latter moves to Al-Ittihad before Friday’s deadline, according to reports. The Egyptian winger has recently been at the centre of speculation linking him with a move to Saudi Arabia, with Al-Ittihad reportedly hoping that Liverpool can be tempted into selling him over the coming days.

Al-Ittihad are one of several government-owned clubs in Saudi Arabia and have no shortage of money to splash on new players, having already signed the likes of Karim Benzema and N’Golo Kante this summer. They are now plotting a huge bid in the region of £129million for Salah in their efforts to secure his signature, according to CBS.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mail are reporting that Jurgen Klopp has identified Felix as an option to replace Salah if the Reds forward ends up leaving ahead of Friday’s transfer deadline. However, it seems as though Liverpool would struggle to convince Felix to make the switch to Anfield over the coming days.

The former Chelsea loanee has his heart set on a move to Barcelona if he leaves Atletico Madrid this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano. The Catalan giants are thought to be keen on landing Felix but are currently focusing on getting the signing of Joao Cancelo from Manchester City over the line.

Barcelona has always been my first choice and I’d love to join Barca. It was always my dream since I was a kid. If it happens, it will be a dream come true for me.”

Chelsea have also been linked with a potential move for Felix on a permanent basis, with 90min claiming that his agents have remained in contact with the Blues this summer. They were said to have explored the idea of bringing him back at the end of last season but their plans were reportedly shelved at the request of Mauricio Pochettino.

We use your sign-up to provide content in ways you’ve consented to and to improve our understanding of you. Arsenal playmaker Emile Smith Rowe was also the subject of an enquiry from the west Londoners, although the 23-year-old is not expected to leave the Emirates Stadium in advance of Friday’s deadline.

Meanwhile, it remains to be seen whether Felix will end up moving to Barcelona or any other club before the transfer window slams shut. His preference is clear but there is a chance that he may be left to settle for an alternative option if the Spanish champions ultimately decide against launching a move for his services.

Want the latest Premier League news as we publish it on Express Sport?
