Victory on Tuesday at Trent Bridge would allow the tourists to square the series ahead of four ODIs.<\/p>\n<p>But Ali, whose 16-ball 26 meant he was one of the few to emerge from Birmingham with any credit, says the days of England arriving at World Cups simply crossing their fingers are long gone.<\/p>\n<p>They are already the first men\u2019s team to hold both the 50-over and T20 World Cups simultaneously, and Jos Buttler\u2019s side are now looking to become the first to retain the one-day trophy since Australia in 2007.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018The mindset\u2019s completely different now,\u2019 said Moeen. \u2018Playing IPLs and stuff has been unbelievable, and great experience for everyone. We\u2019re not overawed by the occasions.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/04\/16\/75047097-0-image-a-1_1693842677745.jpg\" height=\"454\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Moeen Ali believes England will relish the \u2018luxury\u2019 of going into next month\u2019s 50-over World Cup in India knowing they can defend the title they won four years ago at Lord\u2019s<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/04\/16\/75047415-0-image-a-2_1693842732238.jpg\" height=\"435\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Ali insisted Jos Buttler&#8217;s side are full of confidence and are not overawed by any occasion<\/p>\n<p>\u2018It\u2019s not like we go into World Cups now thinking we\u2019re not going to win it. We\u2019re in that luxury position of knowing you\u2019ve got a great chance to win.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>And Moeen, who admitted he could retire from ODIs after the tournament ends, added his voice to the growing chorus of those who suspect Harry Brook may yet force his way into England\u2019s 15-man squad.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Harry Brook is going to be a great player, and he\u2019s playing great at the minute,\u2019 he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u2018He\u2019s been unlucky to miss out but the way he\u2019s playing he could come back in, you never know.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/04\/16\/75047103-0-image-a-3_1693842777650.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>England currently hold both the 50 and 20-over World Cups are are hoping to retain the one-day crown in India next month (pictured &#8211; England celebrate winning the World T20 last year)<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/04\/16\/75047131-0-image-a-4_1693842857271.jpg\" height=\"405\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>The all-rounder also heaped praise on the in-form Harry Brook &#8211; who was excluded from England&#8217;s World Cup squad &#8211; and suggested the Yorkshireman could still force his way in<\/p>\n<p>\u2018It\u2019s a great headache to have as a side, and I\u2019m sure the captain and the coaches are thinking the same thing.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Moeen also defended Dawid Malan, who has made two runs in two innings while chewing up 15 balls since he anchored England\u2019s chase in Durham with a half-century, and could come under pressure to make way for Brook.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018One thing with Malan is he\u2019s never let the team down,\u2019 said Moeen. \u2018He\u2019s been on all the tours and done really well: he\u2019s always scored runs.
