{"id":289991,"date":"2023-09-06T18:35:00","date_gmt":"2023-09-06T18:35:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/allmysportsnews.com\/?p=289991"},"modified":"2023-09-06T18:35:00","modified_gmt":"2023-09-06T18:35:00","slug":"david-silva-highlights-current-superstar-he-wished-he-played-with","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/allmysportsnews.com\/soccer\/david-silva-highlights-current-superstar-he-wished-he-played-with\/","title":{"rendered":"David Silva highlights current superstar he wished he played with"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Manchester City legend David Silva highlights current team&#8217;s superstar he wished he could have played with before hanging up his boots<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>David Silva has revealed which current City player he would want to play with\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Silva won the Premier League four times and the FA Cup twice while at Man City<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>The 37-year-old retired in July 2023 after a serious knee injury at Real Sociedad<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Manchester City&#8217;s legendary midfielder David Silva has revealed that Erling Haaland is the current player in Pep Guardiola&#8217;s side he would most like to have played with.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Reigning PFA and UEFA Player of the Year Haaland has picked up this season where he left off and is already leading the race for the golden boot with six in goals in four games.<\/p>\n<p>Silva registered 60 goals and 106 assists in 309 Premier League games and was known for his ability to unlock low blocks with defence splitting passes, something Haaland would have relished if they&#8217;d played together.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The 37-year-old described the Norwegian striker as &#8216;a beast&#8217;, after he smashed home 52 goals in 53 games in all competitions for City.<\/p>\n<p>The Spaniard made 436 appearances in all competitions in his ten seasons at the Etihad, winning the\u00a0Premier League four times, the FA Cup twice and the League Cup\u00a0on five occasions.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/06\/18\/75131575-12488305-image-a-10_1694019760599.jpg\" height=\"422\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Spanish midfielder David Silva won the Premier League four times during his spell at Man City<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/06\/18\/75131729-12488305-image-a-11_1694019803086.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Silva has named City striker Erling Haaland as the player he wished he could have played with<\/p>\n<p>Silva insisted: &#8216;Haaland is a beast and I like the way he moves on the field,\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I would have loved to have played with him, to help him score even more goals!&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>The former playmaker came through the ranks at\u00a0La\u00a0Liga side Valencia, joining City in 2010 but left England\u00a0in 2020 after six years to join Real Sociedad.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He went on to make 93 appearances for Sociedad but was forced to retire earlier this year after a bad knee injury suffered in preseason.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Silva tipped his former side to win the league again this year, saying: &#8216;They have an amazing team with some amazing players<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;This is Pep&#8217;s eighth season at City. The first year he was getting used to the Premier League, but now they are almost unstoppable.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Arsenal are the only team I can see who maybe have a chance of challenging City.
