Chelsea are sweating on the fitness of Romeo Lavia after he suffered a suspected ankle injury during a training session at Cobham.<\/p>\n

The Belgian, who was not selected for the national side following a disrupted pre-season, was training with a reduced Chelsea squad this week.<\/p>\n

The midfielder joined the club from Southampton in a \u00a360m deal last month but he\u2019s yet to make his debut for the Blues as he searches for full fitness.<\/p>\n

But Lavia\u2019s wait could be delayed even further as Belgian football expert Sacha Tavolieri claims the midfielder suffered an ankle injury in today\u2019s training session.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

It\u2019s claimed the Belgian could have suffered an ankle ligament injury, which would be devastating news for the midfielder and Mauricio Pochettino.<\/p>\n

Lavia will be sent for a scan and Chelsea will be hoping for the best.<\/p>\n

Chelsea saw off competition from Liverpool to sign the 21-year-old, who arrived shortly after the capture of Moises Caicedo.<\/p>\n

Mauricio Pochettino\u2019s side take on Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium in their first game back after the international break.<\/p>\n

Chelsea are already without first team stars Christopher Nkunku, Reece James, Wesley Fofana and Carney Chukwuemeka.<\/p>\n
