There was a distinctly Chelsea flavour to the build up for England's Euro 2024 qualifying clash with Ukraine on Saturday as Joe Cole and Andriy Shevchenko had a kickabout on the touchline.

The two former Blues stars made the most of an ad break by grabbing a nearby football and playing keepie-uppies with each other.

Former England Women's star Jill Scott, who was also on punditry duty, got involved too and impressed the boys by flicking the ball up and catching it on her neck.

Chelsea fans on social media were loving the little pitch-side link-up between Cole and Shevchenko, with one even suggesting they could both do a job in Mauricio Pochettino's side.

Cole and Shevchenko were team-mates for two years at Stamford Bridge and won the FA Cup and the League Cup together, both in 2007.

The Ukrainian forward, who won the Ballon d'Or in 2004, joined the club from AC Milan in 2006, but failed to replicate the sparkling form he'd shown in seven mesmerising seasons at the San Siro. He re-joined Milan on loan in 2008 before signing for Dynamo Kyiv in 2009, leaving with just 22 Chelsea goals under his belt.

Cole, meanwhile, spent seven seasons in west London, winning six major honours including three Premier League titles. He joined from West Ham in 2003 at the start of the Roman Abramovich revolution and left in 2010 after winning the double.

He later played for Liverpool, Lille, West Ham, Aston Villa and Coventry before seeing his career out in the US with the Tampa Bay Rowdies.
