Jurgen Klopp’s agent has responded to fresh speculation linking the Liverpool boss to the Germany job.

Germany sacked their manager Hansi Flick on Sunday – just nine months before the country hosts Euro 2024 – with a number of names linked to the vacant role.

Klopp is said to be the the German Football Association (DFB)’s dream choice to replace Flick and it is not the first time they have expressed interest in him.

Klopp was born in Stuttgart – managing Bundesliga clubs Mainz and Borussia Dortmund before he joined Liverpool in 2015 – and he has previously admitted that it would be a ‘great honour’ to manage the German national team.

But his agent Marc Kosicke has dismissed reports that Klopp could be tempted into leaving Liverpool to take charge of Germany for Euro 2024, pointing towards his contract with the Reds, which does not expire until 2026.

‘Jurgen has a long-term contract with Liverpool and is not available for the national coaching position,’ Kosicke told German outlet Sportschau.

Klopp has enjoyed plenty of success since his arrival at Anfield eight years ago, guiding Liverpool to glory in the Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup, Carabao Cup, Super Cup and Club World Cup.

There was speculation over his Liverpool future last season amid a tough campaign, with his team failing to finish in the Premier League top four and finishing the campaign without any silverware.

Liverpool have made a strong start this term, though, and are unbeaten after their opening four Premier League games – winning three of them.

Meanwhile, it is thought that Germany could now turn to Julian Nagelsmann, who has been out of work since being sacked by Bayern Munich in March.
