A Scotland supporter’s expletive-filled message towards England on his scarf left a crowd of fans cheering down the boozer.

Tuesday night’s fixture marked the 150th anniversary of the historic clash between the Auld Enemies. The match didn’t disappoint, at least for the Three Lions, as they cruised to a 3-1 victory at Hampden Park.

That was not without the Scottish fans doing their best to unsettle England, as Harry Maguire found out when he was immediately goaded after coming on as a substitute, shortly before putting the ball in his own net.

But the bubbling tensions were visible even before kick-off, with one Scotland fan’s scarf in particular carrying a strong feeling of resentment.

“F***ing English b******s” the fan’s scarf read as he proudly held it above his head while seated at Hootenanny in Glasgow, a traditional Scottish bar and restaurant.

A small crowd of fellow Scotland fans behind him could be seen grinning and cheering as they posed with the expletive-laden scarf.

It marked a major difference in tone to some of the Scotland v England half-and-half scarves that were sold pre-match around Hampden. Images began circulating on social media of said scarves prior to kick-off, resulting in a huge backlash on social media.
