{"id":291540,"date":"2023-09-18T13:34:48","date_gmt":"2023-09-18T13:34:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/allmysportsnews.com\/?p=291540"},"modified":"2023-09-18T13:34:48","modified_gmt":"2023-09-18T13:34:48","slug":"man-united-confirm-wan-bissaka-set-for-period-on-the-sidelines","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/allmysportsnews.com\/soccer\/man-united-confirm-wan-bissaka-set-for-period-on-the-sidelines\/","title":{"rendered":"Man United confirm Wan-Bissaka set for &apos;&apos;period on the sidelines&apos;"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Aaron Wan-Bissaka set for &#8216;several weeks on the sidelines&#8217; after the full back was injured in Man United&#8217;s defeat to Brighton&#8230; adding to Erik ten Hag&#8217;s woes<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Wan-Bissaka came on as a substitute during Man United&#8217;s home loss to Brighton<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>The full back is now expected to miss &#8216;several weeks&#8217; after sustaining an injury\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Listen to the latest episode of Mail Sport&#8217;s podcast &#8216;It&#8217;s All Kicking Off&#8217;\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Aaron Wan-Bissaka has become the latest Manchester United player to be sidelined by injury in the opening weeks of the season.<\/p>\n<p>United have confirmed that Wan-Bissaka was hurt after coming on as a late substitute in Saturday\u2019s defeat to Brighton at Old Trafford and the defender could now be out for a number of weeks.<\/p>\n<p>A club statement read: \u2018Aaron Wan-Bissaka is set for a period on the sidelines after sustaining an injury during the closing stages of Saturday\u2019s game against Brighton &amp; Hove Albion.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018The right-back came on as an 85th-minute substitute, having started the game on the bench after battling illness during the week.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Further assessment will be needed to determine how long Wan-Bissaka will be out for, but initial indications suggest it will be several weeks.\u2019<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/18\/13\/75554297-0-image-a-24_1695039547369.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Aaron Wan-Bissaka came off the bench against Brighton but was injured late in the game<\/p>\n<p>Your browser does not support iframes.<\/p>\n<p>United have suffered a number of injury problems in the opening weeks of the new campaign, particularly in defence, with Luke Shaw, Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez and Tyrell Malacia all picking up knocks before Wan-Bissaka\u2019s setback.<\/p>\n<p>Victor Lindelof also came off in the defeat to Arsenal through illness, while new signings Mason Mount, Rasmus Hojlund and Sofyan Amrabat have been unavailable at times.<\/p>\n<p>Mount played the opening two games against Wolves and Tottenham but has missed the last three matches, Hojlund\u2019s debut was delayed due to a back problem, and Amrabat has yet to appear after arriving on loan from Fiorentina with an injury.<\/p>\n<p>However, Martinez and Lindelof started against Brighton and Hojlund was also able to make his full debut.
