{"id":291903,"date":"2023-09-21T08:34:49","date_gmt":"2023-09-21T08:34:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/allmysportsnews.com\/?p=291903"},"modified":"2023-09-21T08:34:49","modified_gmt":"2023-09-21T08:34:49","slug":"man-united-are-brutally-slammed-by-european-papers-after-bayern-defeat","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/allmysportsnews.com\/soccer\/man-united-are-brutally-slammed-by-european-papers-after-bayern-defeat\/","title":{"rendered":"Man United are brutally slammed by European papers after Bayern defeat"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>FIVE Man United stars are handed second-lowest grade possible in brutal Bild player ratings &#8211; and even goalscorers are &#8216;average&#8217; &#8211; as European papers slam &#8216;small team&#8217; who &#8216;psychologically collapsed&#8217;<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Manchester United were beaten 4-3 by Bayern Munich in the Champions League<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Their performance in Munich has been heavily criticised by the European press<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Listen to the latest episode of Mail Sport&#8217;s podcast It&#8217;s All Kicking Off!<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Five of Manchester United players have been brutally handed woeful grades by German newspaper Bild following their performances in their 4-3 defeat by Bayern Munich.<\/p>\n<p>Erik ten Hag&#8217;s men\u00a0were well-beaten\u00a0by Harry Kane&#8217;s Bayern on Wednesday night despite the close scoreline and the defeat means the struggling Red Devils\u00a0have now lost four of their first six games in 2023-24, including three in a row.<\/p>\n<p>And nearly half of United&#8217;s starting XI for the clash at the Allianz Arena have been given Bild&#8217;s second-lowest grade possible in their player ratings following the game.<\/p>\n<p>Four of the five United players given a &#8216;5&#8217; by Bild \u2013 with 1 being their best rating and 6 being the worst \u2013 were predictably in defence after Bayern picked them apart with ease.<\/p>\n<p>United\u2019s new \u00a347.2million goalkeeper Andre Onana was given the low score for his calamitous mistake for Bayern&#8217;s first goal, after Leroy Sane&#8217;s shot squirmed under his gloves and rolled into the back of his net.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/21\/08\/75672569-12543681-image-a-19_1695280107948.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Five of Manchester United&#8217;s players received the second-lowest grade by Bild in their ratings<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/21\/08\/75672563-12543681-United_goalkeeper_Andre_Onana_was_one_of_the_five_players_to_rec-a-2_1695281461381.jpg\" height=\"559\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>United goalkeeper Andre Onana was one of the five players to receive the damning rating<\/p>\n<p>Your browser does not support iframes.<\/p>\n<p>He\u00a0has now leaked 14 goals in six games since replacing David de Gea.<\/p>\n<p>Both centre backs, Lisandro Martinez and Victor Linelof, were also given the paltry scores while Diogo Dalot was hammered for his performance by the German newspaper.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/21\/08\/75673107-12543681-Bild_score_players_on_a_1_6_scale_with_1_being_the_highest_grade-a-3_1695281461383.jpg\" height=\"585\" width=\"306\"><\/p>\n<p>Bild score players on a 1-6 scale \u2013 with &#8216;1&#8217; being the highest grade a player or manager can receive while &#8216;6&#8217; being the lowest<\/p>\n<p>Facundo Pellistri also failed to escape the damning low score as he filled in for Antony on the right-hand side.<\/p>\n<p>Ten Hag himself received the second-lowest rating possible despite his side&#8217;s late comeback that left them to within one goal of tying it up in the dying moments.<\/p>\n<p>Sergio Reguilon and Christian Eriksen were both give 4s while the rest of United&#8217;s starting XI \u2013 Ramus Hojlund, Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro \u2013 all received the average score of 3 by Bild.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>And it wasn&#8217;t just the German press that laid into the Red Devils following the shocking defensive display in Munich.<\/p>\n<p>Spanish sports newspaper Marca ruthlessly labelled United a &#8216;small team&#8217; after shipping four goals.<\/p>\n<p>Marca&#8217;s Ramon Garcia wrote: &#8216;The Dutch coach [Ten Hag] closes one of the most difficult weeks in memory at Old Trafford for the Red Devils in Munich.
