They&#8217;re different. As I said to my fan forum last night, I made a mistake.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/21\/16\/75691847-12545591-image-a-2_1695311255544.jpg\" height=\"336\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Daniel Levy sat down for an interview with Bloomberg, the day after he attended a fans forum\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/21\/16\/75691595-12545591-image-m-4_1695311369299.jpg\" height=\"441\" width=\"306\"><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/21\/16\/75691579-12545591-image-a-5_1695311375818.jpg\" height=\"441\" width=\"306\"><\/p>\n<p>Levy admitted he made a mistake in hiring Jose Mourinho (L) and Antonio Conte (R)<\/p>\n<p>Your browser does not support iframes.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;They&#8217;re great managers but they&#8217;re just not right for this club. The way they want to win is different to how we need to win.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I think our style of football that our fans crave for is attacking football. If that means winning 4-3 then so be it.\u00a0Whereas, I think their style of football is&#8230; they don&#8217;t mind defensive and winning 1-0.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;And we were in a situation where we were so desperate to win, I think at that moment in time, when I go back 4-5 years ago, we would&#8217;ve taken any way of winning. But we didn&#8217;t win. And therefore when you don&#8217;t win, you get a very disgruntled fanbase&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>Tottenham reached new heights under Pochettino from 2014-2019, mounting multiple title charges and reaching the Champions League final, but ended that era with nothing to show for it.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>During the fans forum on Tuesday, Levy suggested that &#8211; in the wake of Pochettino&#8217;s failed reign &#8211; some of the Tottenham players had pushed for a &#8216;win-now&#8217; manager.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Reflecting on those comments, the Spurs chief said: &#8216;It wasn&#8217;t about the name, it was about, they [the players] wanted to win. Just as I did.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;We&#8217;d come to close with Mauricio, who was a great manager and did fantastic things for this football club. And we got frustrated and we went through a phase where we said: &#8216;Let&#8217;s try something different&#8217;. And it didn&#8217;t work&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>During the same interview, Levy admitted\u00a0that he is open to selling a stake in the north London club.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/21\/16\/75691985-12545591-image-a-14_1695311621587.jpg\" height=\"439\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Tottenham seem to be back on the right track under current manager Ange Postecoglou<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/21\/16\/75676547-12545591-Tottenham_chairman_Daniel_Levy_has_said_that_he_is_open_to_selli-a-6_1695311474086.jpg\" height=\"427\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>The Tottenham chairman also admitted that he is open to selling a stake in the London club<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;If we get the right naming rights partner \u2014 and when I say that, I mean somebody who pays the right money in the right sector \u2014 then we are willing to consider doing it. But we&#8217;re not as tied to doing it now as perhaps we would&#8217;ve been when we first looked at building the stadium.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;We run this club as if it&#8217;s a public company. If anyone wants to make a serious proposition to the board of Tottenham we would consider it, along with our advisers, and if we felt it was in the interests of the club we would be open to anything.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;We&#8217;re very much a club that believes in the academy producing players that can become hopefully superstars at Tottenham. We&#8217;re not a club that can buy success. That&#8217;s the reality and we have to understand that.
