Charley Hull almost struck Team Europe captain Suzann Pettersen with an approach shot during day two of the Solheim Cup.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Team USA led 7-5 heading into Saturday’s afternoon session when Hull took her second shot on the eighth hole with her partner Leona Maguire 3 up against their opponents.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Pettersen showed great reflexes to duck out of the way in time to avoid getting hurt and was followed by a wave from the crowd to indicate that she is fine.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Hull went on to hit a superb approach shot which was followed by a brilliant birdie putt to go three up in the top match.\u00a0<\/p>\n
She endured a frustrating start to the tournament having been left out of Friday’s afternoon four-balls, with Pettersen insisting that ‘Charley is fine’ during the end-of-day press conference.<\/p>\n

But the Team Europe captain moved out of the way in time to avoid being hit on Saturday\u00a0<\/p>\n
The 27-year-old entered the\u00a0Solheim Cup while recovering from a neck injury but always maintained she would be fully fit in time.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Team Europe lost the opening session for the first time since 2009 as Team USA stormed into a 4-0 lead on Friday morning.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Pettersen’s side, who are chasing a historic third consecutive victory, fought back strongly to narrow the gap to 5-3 by the end of the day after a much improved showing in the afternoon.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Madelene Sagstrom and Gemma Dryburgh shared the spoils in their fourballs match against Rose Zhang and Megan Khang.\u00a0<\/p>\n
