{"id":292706,"date":"2023-09-27T15:19:51","date_gmt":"2023-09-27T15:19:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/allmysportsnews.com\/?p=292706"},"modified":"2023-09-27T15:19:51","modified_gmt":"2023-09-27T15:19:51","slug":"david-seaman-wants-chelsea-to-sack-head-coach-mauricio-pochettino-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/allmysportsnews.com\/soccer\/david-seaman-wants-chelsea-to-sack-head-coach-mauricio-pochettino-2\/","title":{"rendered":"David Seaman wants Chelsea to sack head coach Mauricio Pochettino"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/GettyImages-1686708659-1.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>David Seaman says he is \u2018happy\u2019 for Chelsea to sack Mauricio Pochettino because it would mean less competition for his beloved Arsenal.<\/p>\n<p>Chelsea news, exclusives and analysis<\/p>\n<p>Pochettino took over as Chelsea head coach this summer but has endured a tough start, with the club winning one of their opening six top-flight games.<\/p>\n<p>The Argentine is already under significant pressure and several pundits have argued that his job is under threat, especially if he is unable to guide the Blues to victory in their next two Premier League matches against Fulham and Burnley.<\/p>\n<p>But Arsenal legend Seaman is a huge fan of former Tottenham boss Pochettino, and feels he would only improve Chelsea if he stays at Stamford Bridge.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Aston Villa beat Chelsea and there was a lot of talk about Pochettino getting sacked,\u2019 Seaman said on his podcast.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018It\u2019s not Pochettino [who is the problem]. If they get rid of him I will be well happy, because Chelsea will be right out of it. <\/p>\n<p>\u2018The longer he stays, the better they will get. There is no doubt about that.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Another Defeat For Chelsea - Can Poch Turn It Around? | Seaman Says\" width=\"810\" height=\"456\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/mGE_PWs9H6k?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>\u2018I heard someone say it\u2019s like he has a big handful of cards but can\u2019t find the right hand.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Seaman instead took aim at Chelsea\u2019s co-owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali for \u2018forcing\u2019 a young squad on Pochettino and for the changes they have made at the club off the pitch since they took over from Roman Abramovich.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018They are a young squad. That\u2019s been forced on him a little bit, I think,\u2019 Seaman said.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018A lot of the backroom staff got fired in the change of ownership process. That\u2019s not a good sign. Not just coaches but kit men and all that sort of side of it.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Chelsea have spent over \u00a31 billion on transfers under Boehly and Eghbali but their huge spending has not translated into success on the pitch, with the club suffering an abysmal 12th-placed finish last season before a slow start this term.<\/p>\n<p>Seaman feels Pochettino will eventually turn things around, though, if he is given time to do so as he added: \u2018Chelsea are going to come good.
