Trent Alexander-Arnold is back in full training and is set to play in Liverpool’s huge match at Tottenham, according to Jurgen Klopp.

Liverpool travel to north London on Saturday eveing in what should be an epic clash between two of the Premier League’s most in-form teams.

Both sides are unbeaten after six games and among the league’s top scorers, with the Reds second in the table, just two points ahead of Spurs.

Klopp’s side has been largely injury free so far this season, though they have had to do without vice-captain Alexander-Arnold for the last month after he was injured during the 3-0 win over Aston Villa.

The right-back suffered a thigh injury, but earlier this week his manager revealed he had done some light training with the first team, and it seems he is now back and ready to go.

‘Trent trained yesterday normal,’ Klopp said in his pre-match press conference on Friday.

‘Will train today normal. We have to make a decision. I’m not a doctor but it looks like he will be in the squad and play.’

It wasn’t so positive news for the other injuries in the squad however: ‘Thiago [Alcantara] still out. Conor [Bradley] still out.

‘Stefan [Bajcetic] had a little setback. Tiny calf issue. Everyone wants to see him play more but we have to be careful. That’s how it is when you’ve had six months out.’

As Liverpool boss, Klopp has lost just one of his 18 games against Tottenham, winning 11 of those encounters.

But under new manager Ange Postecoglou, this Spurs side are far more attack-minded and confident than their predecessors, and Klopp has been impressed by the opposition.

He added: ‘Spurs is a tough test, we’ve not played an easy game yet, away at Newcastle, Chelsea really tough. All aways have been tough.

‘Spurs doing well, Ange seems a top bloke, looking forward to meeting him. I think [fans] were all desperate for offensive football, he’s doing it.’
