Martin Odegaard has been praised by Arsenal fans after gifting Kai Havertz his first goal for the club.<\/p>\n
The Gunners ran rampant at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday, putting four past Bournemouth in a clear display of their superiority. Bukayo Saka nodded in from point blank range for the opener 17 minutes in, before captain Martin Odegaard scored from the spot on the stroke of half-time, after Eddie Nketiah was brought down in the box.<\/p>\n
Arsenal were awarded yet another penalty after the break, with Odegaard this time being clumsily fouled in the area. But Odegaard and usual penalty taker Saka selflessly decided to delegate it to Havertz, who had not scored since his much-criticised \u00a365million move in the summer.<\/p>\n

The raucous away end cheered as Havertz was handed the ball. And after a nervy looking run-up, the German slotted it convincingly into the bottom corner, sending Neto the wrong way.<\/p>\n
A look of relief was instantly visible on Havertz\u2019s face as his ecstatic team-mates hounded him with joy. They pushed him in the direction of the Arsenal section as he offered a fist pump.<\/p>\n

Fans were delighted with the outcome as well as the camaraderie shown by Odegaard and Saka, writing on Twitter: \u201cThat was a selfless act by Odegaard and Saka to let Kai Havertz take the spot kick,\u201d and \u201cGreat leadership from Odegaard to give Havertz the penalty.\u201d<\/p>\n
Others gushed: \u201cClass from Odegaard & Saka and the entire @Arsenal team to make sure Kai gets his first goal,\u201d and \u201cTeam Spirit at its best.\u201d<\/p>\n
The travelling north London support jubilantly bellowed out a new song in honour of Havertz, to the tune of Shakira's Waka Waka, for the remainder of the game. It was heard again as he received a standing ovation when being replaced by Emile Smith Rowe in the 81st minute.<\/p>\n
