Alexis Mac Allister fired a dig at Cristian Romero after Liverpool\u2019s 2-1 defeat against Tottenham on Saturday.<\/p>\n
Liverpool had Curtis Jones sent off in the 26th minute before a huge VAR blunder ruled out Luis Diaz\u2019s legitimate goal. Heung-Min Son then put Spurs ahead before Cody Gakpo equalised for Jurgen Klopp\u2019s side on the stroke of half time.<\/p>\n
Liverpool were reduced to nine men in the second half as substitute Diogo Jota was given a second yellow card but Klopp\u2019s side looked on course to hold on for a point until Joel Matip\u2019s own goal in injury time handed the win for Spurs.<\/p>\n
In an Instagram message to Spurs fans after the game, Romero wrote: \u2018This team has great spirit, great heart. always like this, all together\u00a0@spursofficial\u2019<\/p>\n
But his Argentina teammate Mac Allister made it clear that Spurs benefitted from poor officiating in their victory as he replied: \u2018Normal when you have 12 players.\u2019<\/p>\n
Romero then fired back with: \u2018Cry at home.\u2019<\/p>\n

Both Darren England and Dan Cook, the VAR officials for Liverpool\u2019s defeat to Spurs, have since been stood down by the PGMOL.<\/p>\n
England has been removed as the fourth official for Nottingham Forest vs Brentford on Sunday, while Dan Cook has been removed as assistant referee for Fulham vs Chelsea on Monday evening.<\/p>\n
A statement from the PGMOL which acknowledged the initial error after Liverpool\u2019s 2-1 defeat to Tottenham read: \u2018PGMOL acknowledge a significant human error occurred during the first half of Tottenham Hotspur vs Liverpool.<\/p>\n
\u2018The goal by Luis Diaz was disallowed for offside by the on-field team of match officials. This was a clear and obvious factual error and should have resulted in the goal being awarded through VAR intervention, however, the VAR failed to intervene.<\/p>\n
\u2018PGMOL will conduct a full review into the circumstances which led to the error.<\/p>\n
\u2018PGMOL will immediately contacting Liverpool at the conclusion of the fixture to acknowledge the error.\u2019<\/p>\n
