Real Madrid legend Iker Casillas has been left \u201coutraged\u201d by Madri beer during his visit to Newcastle.<\/p>\n
Spain\u2019s World Cup-winning captain decided to take a trip to the north-east for the weekend. In one of football\u2019s more bizarre crossovers, Casillas posted a snap of him visiting Newcastle\u2019s city centre and posing next to Grey\u2019s Monument, which he captioned: \u201cVisit Newcastle.\u201d<\/p>\n
The 42-year-old also attended St. James\u2019 Park for the Magpies\u2019 2-0 win over Burnley in the Premier League on Saturday. He shared a photo of himself posing in the stands while looking delighted.<\/p>\n

But Casillas, who won five La Liga titles and three Champions Leagues with Real Madrid, appeared less impressed by Revolucion de Cuba – which featured an advert for Madri beer outside. The former goalkeeper posted a snap on his story of the advert, which read: \u201cTaste the soul of Madrid\u201d and captioned it \u201cWTF??\u201d<\/p>\n
The Madrid-born and raised legend was clearly left baffled by a beer he had never heard of using his city as its premise. The beer is in fact produced in the United Kingdom by Coors, in conjunction with Spanish brewery La Sagra, and became one of the 10 best selling lagers in the UK by 2022.<\/p>\n

One Twitter user shared the post with the caption: \u201cHowling at Casillas being in Newcastle and being outraged by Madri,\u201d while another pointed out: \u201cGot nowt to do with Madrid, that's why.\u201d<\/p>\n
A third replied: \u201cBrewed in the UK & only sold in the UK,\u201d while another sarcastically added: \u201cHe\u2019s probably just overjoyed he\u2019s found an authentic taste of home here.\u201d<\/p>\n

Casillas\u2019 surprising affiliation with the Toon comes after he revealed previously that Newcastle were his favourite English side. And the icon was once even linked with a move to Tyneside.<\/p>\n
Yet he is not the only well-known football star to have a connection with the club, with Antoine Griezmann having confessed to enjoying a Newcastle Football Manager save. The French World Cup winner revealed he had won five trophies with the Magpies and even managed to sign compatriot Kylian Mbappe for them in-game.<\/p>\n
